About
I am a U.S. retired psychotherapist social worker. I had clinical experience working individually with trauma populations in foster care and in providing Family Therapy to many different types of individuals. I provided Structural Family Therapy (vise-a-vie Dr. Salvadore Minunchen), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt (Redecision) Therapy, EMDR, and a therapy method that I had developed called Recognition-Based Schema Therapy.
I started reading about the brain in 1999 in attempts to enhance my therapeutic skill and to make trauma therapy more malleable and easier to process for clients by encouraging experience dependent recognition of trauma memory. I have continued my reading and studies to the present. My current area of reading and study focuses on the impact of trauma and dissociation on the brain.
